Level 4 water restrictions will begin next week
Eurobodalla will move to level 4 water restrictions on Tuesday 28 January.
Eurobodalla Council’s director of infrastructure Warren Sharpe said the recent fires had taken a heavy toll on the shire’s water supply at Deep Creek Dam, currently at just over 51 percent capacity.
“That’s our drinking water. The more we can focus on saving water now, the less likely we will need to impose even tougher restrictions in the future,” Mr Sharpe said.
Under level 4 water restrictions all outdoor water use is banned, except:
· Watering gardens with water cans or buckets only, and
· Washing and rinsing private vehicles on grass with buckets only between either 6-8am or 6-8pm.
Variations apply for specific businesses, and emergency services continue to be exempt from all restrictions.

Eurobodalla Shire region is currently on Level 3 water restrictions and will move to Level 4 water restrictions on Tuesday 28 January.
Banned:

Restricted:
Watering gardens and lawns:

on grass areas using bucketsfinal rinse with a trigger nozzle hosebetween either 6-8am or 6-8pm
Boat engine flushing:

Fish cleaning at Council facilities:
rinse fish and cleaning tables with bucketed salt water only
Private swimming pools and external spas (existing):
top up only permitted where covers are fitted
top up using a hand-held hose between either 6-8am or 6-8pm for maximum 60 minutes per day
cover when not in use
Water restrictions for residents and visitors relate to outdoor water use only.
Variations for businesses and organisations
All businesses:
washing hard surfaces (buildings, paths, driveways, parking areas, etc) is banned
Caravan parks, motels and other accommodation houses:
one hand-held hose up to 60 minutes per day between 6-8am or 6-8pm for all outdoor water use
Sporting grounds:
irrigate only enough to avoid loss of playing surface
Bowling greens, turf wickets and golf club greens:
one hand-held trigger nozzle hose between 6-8am
sprinklers on greens only one day per week between 8pm and 8am
Public or commercial swimming pools:
one hand-held hose for grass areas within the pool enclosure up to 60 minutes per day between 6-8am or 6-8pm
top up pools as required
Schools and day care centres:
Watering gardens and lawns
one hand-held hose or one drip-irrigation system up to 60 minutes per day between 6-8am or 6-8pm
only water sportsgrounds enough to avoid loss of playing surface
micro-spray, drip irrigation systems and unattended hoses are not permitted
Commercial market gardens and nurseries:
sprinklers permitted up to two hours per day between 8pm and 8am
Car yards, public passenger bus services, taxi companies:
wash vehicles using buckets and final rinse with a trigger nozzle hose between 6-8am or 6-8pm
Commercial car wash:
no conditions apply
Commercial window and building washing:
must use trigger nozzle hoses or high pressure cleaners
use recycled or bore water where possible
Businesses using Council marine facilities:
boat engine flushing allowed
rinse fish and cleaning tables with bucketed salt water only washing watercraft, trailers and vehicles is prohibited
Commercial building construction and related activities:
use trigger nozzle hoses only
limit water use
Road construction and maintenance:
do not draw from domestic water reticulation, including overhead fillers
Heavy vehicle and machinery cleaning:
Council vehicles to be cleaned using recycled water at treatment plants
Emergency services:
water-filling stations will remain available to emergency services at all times
