Two Charged Over Pharmacy Robberies


 
Two men have been charged after allegedly robbing five pharmacies in Nowra, Callala Bay, Batemans Bay and Tomakin late last week.
 

 
Between Thursday 25 and Friday 26 March 2021, break and enters were reported at pharmacies in the Batemans Bay/Tomakin areas, Nowra and Callala Bay.
 

 
Police were notified and officers from the South Coast Police District Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation.
 

 
Following inquiries, a 23-year-old man was arrested at a home in Bawley Point.
 
A search of the home revealed prescription medication, approximately six kilograms of cannabis and ammunition.
 

 
Following further inquiries, a 33-year-old man was arrested at a home in Mollymook.
 
A search of the home revealed cannabis, knuckle dusters and goods believed to be stolen during the pharmacy robberies.
 

 
All seized items will undergo forensic examination.
 

 
Both men were arrested and taken to Ulladulla Police Station.
 

 
The 23-year-old man was charged with five counts of aggravated break, enter and steal, and possess prohibited drug.
 

 
He was bail refused by police and granted conditional bail the following day, to appear in Nowra Local Court on 24 May 2021
 

 
The 33-year-old man was charged with five counts of aggravated break, enter and steal, and cultivate prohibited plant.
