Updated: Dec 6, 2019

LATEST South Coast Police District report: as @ 12:45 pm 04/12/2019:

Current intelligence suggests the Princes Highway will remain closed for several days due to the dangers associated with the fire and falling trees and limbs. RMS will be undertaking a recovery assessment of the Princes Highway in conjunction with NSW RFS prior to reopening.

South Coast Police District Commander, Superintendent Greg Moore recognised the joint efforts of all Emergency Services and Agencies who are currently working together during these challenging times to get the community back to where it needs to be.

“Community members in fire-affected areas are reminded to avoid dangers such as damaged powerlines and the possibility of hazardous materials in fire-damaged properties,” Superintendent Moore said.

"Our Police and Emergency Services will continue to work tirelessly to protect the community."

"We'd also like to remind the community to listen to and take the advice of Emergency Services in these situations to ensure everyone is kept safe."
