Greg Spies of On Shore Electrical to The Beagle " If your house is older than twenty five years you most likely have the old ceramic fuses with fuse wire in your fuse box. If that's the case,  it's definitely time to upgrade your fuse box to one with safety switches that better protect you and your property".

Greg said "Modern circuit breakers are combination safety switches and circuit breakers designed to protect single circuits from shorts, overloads, and electric shocks.

"It is important to remember that only safety switches save lives. By installing a modern fuse box you are saving both yourself and your asset. During COVID there has been a spike in home renovations that include new electrical work. Be advised that any new work requires an upgrade to the fuse box to ensure it is compliant with today's safety standards".
