Oil spill at Highway and Shelly Road removed

Fire and Rescue NSW Station 384 Moruya report:

P384 were called to spillage on the Princes Highway and Shelley Road.

On arrival we found a large diesel spill covering nearly a kilometer in length. Rain had dispersed most of the spill however the road was still quite slippery.

With the assistance of council, P384 used spillmax to cover entire length of spill to ensure road surface was not hazardous and cause an accident.

Please remember that when approaching an incident where you can see flashing lights to slow to a safe speed and remember we are there doing a job to keep you safe. Also please drive to conditions, after long periods of no rain, the road becomes slippery after rain so slowing down is a much safer option in the wet.

Thank you to all the patient an observant motorists for slowing down early and passing our firefighters at a safe speed.
