Official Bush Fire period ends

Updated: Apr 1, 2020

The Bush Fire Danger Period is now over.

This means permits are not required to burn.

It doesn't mean you can just light up your pile burns though.

There are a few things you have to do first.

1, You must call the Fire Control Center at least 24 hours before you intend to light up.

This is during business hours only.

2, You must notify your neighbors at least 24 hours before you intend to light up.

3, You should ensure the weather conditions throughout the burn period will be favorable.

4, Once the burn is completed the burn should be fully extinguished with water.

Do you need a fire permit?
