Night works for Beach Road next week

Night works next week will see asphalting of the section of Beach Road between the Batemans Bay Marina and Club Catalina. The afterhours resurfacing is planned to reduce additional disruption to motorists as major works to improve the amenity and safety of Beach Road continue.

Eurobodalla Council’s works manager Tony Swallow said residents could expect some heavy-machinery noise during night between Tuesday 9 and Friday 12June, and traffic control would be in place.

“The resurfacing is part of a larger project to make Beach Road safer. The community can expect disruptions in that area until at least September,” Mr Swallow said.

“Motorists can expect two-lane closures – one in each direction – until September and should allow extra time to travel through the area safely.

“Pedestrians and cyclists will also be impacted as we do staged upgrades to water mains on both sides of the road.”

Both the footpath on the inland side and the shared pathway on the seaside will be closed periodically; pedestrians and cyclists may have to travel over grass or gravel sections or be diverted around works, and may need to wait at or be escorted through some sections.

Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians should observe all signs and directions.
