Moruya Has Three Comfortable And Energy Efficient Houses Open On Sustainable House Day Sep 15th

Three houses will be open in Moruya on Sunday 15 September.
 

· a solar passive house

· a retrofitted house

· a prefabricated sustainable house
 

Thomas and Kathryn will be opening their retrofitted Moruya home to the public on Sustainable House Day on Sunday, 15 September 2019 and providing group tours of their recently finished pre-fabricated new eco-friendly house.
 

 
John Bourne will be opening his solar passive “Cloud View”' home.
 

 
John Bourne said “'These homes have many sustainable features:

· solar passive;

· owner built

· rooftop and ground mounted solar;

· off grid living

· rainwater tanks;

· insulation;

· double glazing;

· innovative building materials and design;

· LED lighting;

· energy efficient appliances;

· worm farm waste system;

· Interactive shadow angle display; and

· draught proofing and more”.
 

Thomas, Kathryn and John will this year join more than 250 homeowners nationwide in opening their home to the community to pass on tips and advice.
 

Established in 2001, Sustainable House Day is a national event. It aims to inspire people to live sustainably, showing them how to lower energy bills, live comfortably and help the environment through good home design, clever retrofitting practices and technology.
 

 
The three houses will be open to the general public from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, September 15.
