Mogo's scattered Indigenous families are still grieving, six months after the bushfires

Six months after the New Year's Eve bushfire struck the small residential community in Mogo, the debris has mostly been cleared, but a long journey lies ahead to bring displaced families home.
 

 
When flames blocked all routes out of the town, Sherrie Nye McCarron and Kizzy Nye were faced with no other option but to stay and fight for their homes, with dwindling water pressure and no firefighting support. They still carry the trauma of what they experienced, but the trauma is felt by the whole community.
