Marine Rescue Tuross vessel to be ready for summer

Boating safety on the NSW South Coast will be boosted with the delivery of another new rescue vessel in coming months.

Construction is progressing on a new boat for Marine Rescue Tuross.

The 7.5m Ocean Cylinder is being built at Yamba Welding & Engineering Pty Ltd on the Northern Rivers.

Marine Rescue Botany Port Hacking's new Naiad vessel, nearing completion, can be glimpsed behind Tuross 20 in the YW&E shed.

Meanwhile the current Marine Rescue Tuross rescue vessel TU20 will hopefully return to service in coming weeks, fitted with a new windscreen.

Volunteers from Marine Rescue Tuross were shocked in mid August to discover that their rescue vessel, Tuross 20, had been senselessly vandalised. The vessel remains off the water whilst undertaking costly repairs after a large rock was thrown through the vessel’s windscreen.
