Fit 4 Work Batemans Bay receives a drop in visit

On Wednesday 3rd November 2021, Assistant Commissioner Gelina Talbott, Supt Mark Wall, Insp Mel Cooper with PCYC CEO Dominic Teakle visited the South Coast Police District to drop in & see the current Fit 4 Work program currently being delivered in Batemans Bay.


 
Fit for work is a ten-week program designed to holistically address a young person's disengagement from education & employment opportunities. Over the course of the program, they will obtain a number of skills including their white card (WH&S) & First Aid Certificate. They will also learn interview skills, resumes & undertake work experience. Police continue working with the program participants after the program is finished, supporting them gain meaningful employment or support them enrol in Tafe or other courses that will assist them obtain employment.
 

 
The program facilitators have run the program online via teams (due to covid) with the remainder of the participants joining the program online at their respective homes. The students were selected from both Moruya High & Batemans Bay High School.
