The Business Council of Australia partnered with The Australian to promote an engagement campaign called The Biggies showcasing entrants and finalists across NewsCorp platforms.
The Big Heart award in that campaign recognises an individual or a team "that has gone to extraordinary lengths to help those in need. The award is all about going above and beyond in the community."
John Appleby, who was last night announced as the winner.
Congratulations to John and his team for the recognition of their efforts, joining the ranks of the hundreds of community members across the region who also stepped up to do whatever was required at the time under the harrowing conditions most of us witnessed and endured.
