THE WORKS
 

Roads and Maritime Services advises vessel operators that dredging operations will be occurring in the vicinity of the Clyde River Bar, Batemans Bay, from Monday 7 October 2019 to Wednesday 20 November 2019.
 

NAVIGATION WARNING

Vessel operators should exercise caution in the vicinity of the Clyde River Bar, Batemans Bay, due to dredging operations and the presence of the floating dredge, spoil pipeline and other associated equipment, during the times detailed above.

The dredge spoil pipeline will be marked by lights and high visibility floats, and the dredge will display the required shapes and lights as illustrated below.

Vessel operators must pass the dredge only on the side with two diamond shapes (two green lights during times of restricted visibility and/or between sunset and sunrise).

Vessel operators should continue using the Clyde River Bar Leads as an aid to navigation when crossing the bar.
 

Dredging operations will occur during daylight hours only, however the dredge and associated equipment may remain in position outside times of operation.
 

DIRECTIONS

Roads and Maritime advises:

Persons within the vicinity of the works must comply with any directions given by a Boating Safety Officer or Police Officer in relation to the works or to marine safety. Failure to comply with any such direction is an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.15A - Maximum Penalty $3,300.00).Vessels are required to maintain a safe distance and speed from the works and operators are reminded that the production of wash which impacts unreasonably on the works is an offence (Marine Safety Regulation 2016 – clause 11(2)) - Maximum Penalty $5,500.00).
