Batemans Bay Bridge update

As work continues on the Batemans Bay Bridge replacement project, 150 workers are now on site and achieving major project milestones heading into the New Year.

Transport for NSW is providing a snapshot of work planned over the next three months to help the community prepare and plan around traffic changes caused by major work.

Standard work hours on the project are from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Work planned between 6 January and 31 March 2020 will include:

Delivering and installing the first of the bridge segments

Continuing marine pier construction

Completing concrete work for both abutments

Completing southern approach retaining walls and starting embankment earthworks

Completing pavement, barrier, slip lane and finishing works on Kings Highway

Geotechnical investigation for the new floating pontoon.

Transport for NSW Regional Director Southern, Sam Knight, said "the Batemans Bay Bridge replacement project has already celebrated a number of milestones this year, including display of the detailed design and foreshore design, opening of the training hub, production of deck segments at the precast facility and start of major work in the Clyde River."

“We are encouraging the community to keep up to date with project milestones by visiting the project website for updates, including video and photos of the work.”

Major work will shut down over the peak holiday season between Friday 20 December 2019 and Monday 6 January 2020.

Workers will be on standby if the community requires the project team during this period.
