Liberal Candidate for Gilmore, Warren Mundine, visited Tuross Head last week to become familiar with the town and with the Kyla Park Hall which will be the venue of a “Meet the Candidates” community forum and Q&A session that is being hosted by the Tuross Head Progress Association (THPA) on Monday 29th April 2019 between 7 pm and 9 pm.
The THPA is a apolitical association, but has taken the opportunity to arrange the community forum so that local residents can hear first hand from each of the five candidates running for the Federal seat of GILMORE which has been vacated by the retiring member, Ann Sudmalis, MP.
It is hoped that all six candidates listed below will be in attendance at the “Meet the Candidates” forum to be convened in the Kyla Park Hall and adjudicated by Tuross resident Gary Smith.
As at 12th April 2019 Fiona Philips, Carmel McCallum and Warren Mundine have accepted the invitation to participate in the “Meet the Candidates” community forum.
Warren Mundine also met with Max Castle, the Vice President of the Recreational Fishers Alliance (RFA NSW) to inspect the Tuross Head fishing jetty which is overdue for replacement.

Mr Castle told the Beagle "it is hoped that some of the candidates vying for the seat of Gilmore may be able to commit to making funds available for the delivery of a sorely needed new jetty for the benefit of recreational fishers.
"The need for the replacement of the only fishing jetty in the village has garnered strong support from the Tuross Head Progress Association, the Tuross Head Fishing Club, the Tuross Head Country Club, the Tuross Business Owners Association as well as Council." Mr Castle said.
