World records at Moruya Skydiving Championships

Yesterday saw the 2019 Australian and New Zealand National Skydiving Championships come to a close in what has been the most successful chapter in competition history.

Over the course of the week three national and three international records broken by some of the country’s (now world’s) fastest athletes.

World Records:

  • Jessica Johnston (below) now holds the new female world record for speed at 340.92 km/h

Shane Turner (Tweed Heads) now holds the new male world record for speed at 490.32 km/h
 

Olivia Scholten (below) has taken out the title of junior world champ in her first competition

National Records:
 

Chris Byrnes (Brisbane) now holds three national records in the Speed Skydiving Wingsuiting division: National record for Speed – 324.7 km/h, National record for Distance – 4.977km and National record for Time – 96.3 seconds
