Not-for-profit organisations and community groups are invited to apply for grant funding to run NAIDOC Week activities this year.
Eurobodalla Council provides grants of up to $500 for activities that promote partnership with the Aboriginal community and encourage wider community participation in NAIDOC Week, to be held 7-14 July.
National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week provides a special opportunity for Aboriginal people to promote their history and culture.
Past Eurobodalla NAIDOC Week grant recipients have included community cultural days, women’s mentoring groups and Aboriginal language programs, arts projects and the development of bookmarks.
This year Council is looking for activities that provide opportunities to learn about and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as part of the 2019 NAIDOC Week theme ‘Voice. Unity. Treaty. Let’s work together for a shared future’. The theme aims to encourage the community to work together to develop a strong future through respect and acknowledgement of Aboriginal languages, lore, history and culture.
