It was perfect weather for the 2018 Narooma Boats Afloat weekend that saw the return to Wagonga Inlet for all those who love old boats. From clinkers and putt-putts to launches, cruisers and yachts the Narooma Boats Afloat celebrates traditional boats in all their varied forms. Held in spring every year since 2006 the festival is growing in entries.

The weekend started off with the annual welcome dinner hosted by the Narooma Boats Afloat committee with a Saturday morning scenic cruise around Wagonga Inlet that saw the fleet enjoy a morning tea at Freshwater Bay catered by Mr Bold Catering.
Saturday afternoon offered an opportunity for the public to look over the spick and polished fleet displayed at the Narooma Marina enjoying the annual complimentary Montague Arts exhibition

Sunday, under perfect skies bought perfect conditions for the annual flotilla parade as it made its way under the Narooma Bridge to the delight of the hundreds of spectators lining the Wagonga Inlet along the Mill Bay Walkway
This year saw the flotilla observe a minutes silence at 11am for Remembrance Day with a lone piper playing as a floral wreath was laid on the water.

The winner of the inaugural Narooma Boats Afloat Malcolm McKay trophy was awarded to a gorgeous eighteen foot long timber hull canopy steam launch (below) owned by Terry Lance, built in the 1950’s.
