Rhonda Streeter (nee Begg) was born in Wauchope where she spent her formative years with her parents Dr William and Jill Begg and her Sister Erica. She was educated at Wauchope High School, after which she attended Sydney University graduating as an Occupational Therapist.
Her early professional life was in Sydney and Wauchope. In 1957 Rhonda met and married Robert Streeter, making their home near Glen Innes.
Rhonda again practiced her profession at the district hospital. With a growing family Bob and Rhonda decided on a “sea change” and moved to Narooma.
Over her life Rhonda was always interested in art in all its forms; sewing , knitting, pottery , basket work, gardening and cooking. Meeting up with a lively group of friends at Narooma, Rhonda became increasingly adept at water colour work, taking every opportunity to improve her skill.
Most of her works feature the Narooma and Tilba areas. She sold many works both locally and afar and exhibited in galleries across NSW.
Rhonda’s art was her creative gift. A medium from which she gave and received much pleasure over many years and to many people.
In June 2010 Rhonda passed away after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
The exhibition and sale of her works from October 31st to November 6th is to raise much needed funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
