Tree Time Stories - A 26 minute expose of the Gulaga region, winner of the Mindfield Film Festival, LA, 2016
Understorey - a 38 minute version of David Gallam’s acclaimed history of forest campaigns in the south east, with a discussion by the Director.
$15 tickets at the door (con $10), and donations towards food, drinks, and campaign costs are welcome.

A screening of the epic & insightful films "Understorey" and “Tree Time Stories” is being held to raise awareness of the precious habitats on the Nature Coast under threat of logging. This is an opportunity to meet the diverse range of people that are working together to create a future of “grand stately forests” in the Eurobodalla and beyond.
The residents supporting Corunna Forest have invited the community to join the quest to make the forests grand and stately once again.
Indigenous elder Uncle Max Harrison features in the first film “Tree Time Stories”, which explores the hidden meanings that nature reveals through a strong connection with the Australian bushland.
David Gallan will be attending the evening on return from his appearance in the 2018 Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. Wildlife Photographer of the Year is the longest-running and most prestigious nature photography competition worldwide. Over 45 000 entries are reduced to the top 100 images in various categories. The exhibition of award winners is also seen by millions of people worldwide. The international tour of the exhibition has grown to include more than 60 venues across six continents, and has developed a loyal following across the globe.
David will talk about current issues facing Australia’s Forests before a screening of “Understorey”. Produced in partnership with National Parks Association, this film is an amazing reflection of the fight for the SE Forests through the end of the 20th century.
Understorey is highly commended for the skilful way that many different historical photos and film formats have been woven together to great effect. Residents have called for an immediate end to logging operations at Corunna, which links the sacred Gulaga Mountain to the ocean.
There is also general outrage at the Government’s plans for future management of forests in New South Wales. With NSW State elections in March next year, these issues are being observed very closely. Residents are calling on the government to represent the needs and wishes of the community, not just Forest Corp and it’s customers.
Residents have very little confidence in Forestry Corporation NSW, when breaches to its trading terms are frequent and the EPA’s ability to hold Forestry to account is made impossible by critical underfunding
