NSW Teachers Federation discusses concerns with Moruya TAFE

NSW Teachers Federation Deputy Maxine Sharkey discussed the concerns of cuts to Permanent Teachers at Moruya TAFE.

In 2018 Mouya TAFE lost four permanent teachers including two head teachers. Moruya TAFE now has only one Head Teacher on the campus.

Federation is concerned at the increased cost of courses is taking away opportunities for students to gain skills for employment. Certificate course now cost in excess of $1500.

Federation will campaign that the Federally Funded Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) be returned to TAFE at Batemans Bay and Moruya. In August 2018, the private training company closed its course delivery of the AMEP program. The closest delivery is now at Nowra.
