Our local amateur photographers presented a variety of wonderful photographs at their July meeting. The theme was “open” so members were free to present any of their photographs!
Heath Barkley presented an educational session on how to set up a studio for portrait photography.
The meeting is a social function as well as a learning opportunity and Sue Hartland provided excellent homemade cakes for all!
The judge for the competition was Helen McFadden from the Canberra photographic club. Helen provided detailed critiques for all of the photographs and this was a much-appreciated learning opportunity for all.
In the black and white category, Brian Gunter won a silver award for his picture of “The Poet”. Gold was awarded to Dave Kemp for his portrait of “Gen Z”.
In the colour category, silver awards went to: Dave Kemp for his picture “6 seconds”; Dale Evans for “Down, Down Down”; Ric Bannister for “Snail Party”; Brian Gunter for “Snowy Mountain Nightscape”; and Jill Armstrong for “Twilight on Dirk Hartog Island”.
Gold awards for the colour category went to Rob Garaghty for “Little Wattle Bird”; Mick Newnham for “Tomakin Cove” and to Dave Kemp for “Eye Fly”.
The “Image of the Night” award went to Dave Kemp for “Eye Fly”.
