Corunna Forest Protection Group presents "Films for the Forest" @ Narooma Kinema, Thursday, 2nd August from 6pm
“Tree Time Story” 26 min followed by “Understory” 38 min
Welcome to Country at 6 pm and opening address by Uncle Max ‘Dulamunmun’ Harrison. with food & drinks (by donation).
There will also be a quick history of the last 4 month & current activities of the rapidly growing Corunna Forest Protection Group (fb). PLUS an introduction to the 'Great Southern Forest' initiative that is being promoted to ensure a bright future for the awesome forests of the SE.

“Treetime Tales” (26m)
(winner of the Mindfield Film Festival, LA, 2016), follows along the wisdom of the Yuin elder Uncle Max 'Duamunmun' Harrison, who is an initiated Yuin Man & knowledge holder. It reveals his perspective on trees and nature, and the hidden messages found within the Australian landscape, opening the inner world of understanding through the power of storytelling.
Then David Gallum, Director of “Understory”, discusses current issues & introduces the shorter 38 min version of his film. David self funded this film documentary and it was produced in partnership with National Parks Association. Every once in a very long while a gem of conservation media lights our lives. Such is David Gallan’s account of the grass roots, community movement, which was responsible for the conservation of so much of the South East Forests of NSW.
The evening aims to raise awareness of the precious habitats in the "Nature Coast" under threat of imminent logging, and a great chance to connect with other'forest-loving' folk.
Help shape what needs to be done by the community to halt Forestry Corp and increase protection for zones that the community overwhelmingly want to see "forever logging free".
