Plants have been healing ailments across many cultures and for many generations. In fact, they were our sole remedy until the relatively recent arrival of the pharmaceutical companies. There are many safe and efficacious remedies to common illness and injuries available from the garden and kitchen. Instead of filling your medicine cabinet with a bunch of pharmaceutical drugs, join Alison Walsh and Jacqui Berry at the SAGE Garden for an introduction to readily accessible plants which are medicine for basic health care.

In this six-hour workshop, you will be exposed to a range of topics, which include how to:

  • Develop your own herbal first aid skills

  • Identify useful plants and weeds

  • Prepare decoctions, syrups and infused oils

This workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to learn more about the natural healing properties of plants and the relationship they have with human health. You don’t necessarily need to have your own garden. Although after this workshop you may be tempted to create your own medicine cabinet in your garden!
