Far South Coast District ( FSCD) Women’s Bowling News

The 2018 FSCD Championships commenced on the 20th January with the Mixed Pairs event. This event is sectional set play, and was open to all clubs with the district.

There were eight entries, therefore two sections of 4 teams who played a set format round robin. The final was played between the section winners - John and Sue Fahey (Tuross Head) and Chris and Finn Hansen (Dalmeny).

Congratulations to Sue and John Fahey for winning the final. They now go onto represent FSCD at the regional playoffs June 2018.

The second of our championships has been completed over the past week, and that is the Open and Senior Pairs event.

The Open Pairs was held over four days, and there were 9 teams in the competition.

The Senior Pairs had seven teams and had three days of competition. There were many wonderful games to watch, and a number of the games were not decided until the last end.

The final of the Open Pairs was between Doreen Monks / Sue Fahey ( Tuross Head) and Janet McKay / Jenny Blyth ( Malua Bay). The winner was Tuross Head In the Senior Pairs, the final was between Milka Starkovski / Jenny Hogan ( Tomakin) and Frances Lucas/ Yvonne Huddleston ( Malua Bay).

The winner was Tomakin.

Congratulations to all, and the FSCD Champions will now play in the regional playoffs in March.
