Bike Ride For Beginners in Moruya Jan 31st

Have you been thinking of making a comeback to cycling but have lacked the confidence to do so? In Moruya on Wednesday 31 January the Eurobodalla Bicycle User Group is going to provide a supportive environment to help you get started.

Guy Brantingham, the President of the Eurobodalla Bicycle User Group said that there appears to be a great need for, short, easy rides for those who want to increase their fitness and/or regain their confidence after many years of cycling absence. This ride will provide a great opportunity to enjoy some relaxed exercise in the fresh air, in pleasant company. Guy who is a certified ride leader, will be able to provide advice on bike skills and bike maintenance and operation.

These rides are targeted at adult riders (men and women) who want a carefree, relaxing, slow ride with like-minded people. The ride will end with an all-important coffee at a local café.

He said that cycling is an appealing activity as it improves cardiovascular fitness while being low impact on the hips, knees and other joints. It is suitable for all levels of ability.

Guy said that because the Moruya cycle paths are flat, they provide an easy route for those who are looking to build their confidence in bike riding. The short ride durations and distances will be flexible to suit the wishes of the participants.

The ride is open to anyone who has a safe bicycle and is wearing a helmet.

To join the first ride, just turn up on Wednesday 31 January ready for a 8.00am start from the car park opposite the Blue Heron Café in Church Street, Moruya. (next to Riverside Park).

The rides are free.

If there is sufficient support further rides will occur on subsequent Wednesdays.
