The Beagle

During the weekend of 4th and 5th November, nine members of the Narooma Camera Club visited Delegate. We were hosted by local residents Russell and Sharon Buckman who have a wonderful knowledge of that region and whom many of us know from previous visits. The nights were freezing (six of our members were camping), but the days were fine.
Visits were made on the Saturday to the historic “Burnima” homestead and the “Holy Transfiguration” Russian Orthodox Monastery, both in the Bombala area. Both places were very interesting and photogenic. On the Sunday we ventured over the Victorian border to visit the Errinundra rain forest – a wonderland of ferns, mosses, waratah flowers and massive trees, plus a few leeches.

On Wednesday 5 November the club held it’s monthly competition. The set subject was “minimalist”. Our judge for the evening was Ivan Finlay, a club member and a NSW Federation of Camera Clubs approved judge. Thanks go to Ivan for his incisive and informative comments.
