Eurobodalla Photographers go wild

The last week of July saw another interesting and enjoyable meeting of The Eurobodalla Photographic Club.

The printed photos competition was judged by the members using the club’s popular voting system. Members practiced their own judging skills by critiquing the submitted pictures.

The competition judge for the digitally presented photos was former Batemans Bay resident Ben Eyles, who is a professional photographer. The theme for the month was “Wild!” and Ben provided an excellent, insightful critique of the photos via a video which was played to the club members at the meeting. His fantastic, detailed comments on all the photos were greatly appreciated by all.

Each meeting of the club includes an educational component. For July, this was provided by Heath Barkley who gave a talk about “white balance”. Members brought their cameras along to learn some new skills in this area.

“Image of the night” in the digitally projected images was won by Yvonne Matthews with a remarkable photo of a jet ski in flight!

The “image of the night” in the printed photos was won by Beth Westra with a beautiful picture of an Eastern Yellow Robin.

Gold awards were also made to Rick Bannister (2), George Cook and Rob Geraghty. Silver awards went to Rob Geraghty (2), Michelle Merry, Brian Gunter, Dave Kemp (4), Rick Banister and Ken Foster.
