The Beagle

Welcome to this week's Editors Choice

It has been a week of community giving back to the community.

This week saw the generosity of a local fishing club and a locally owned fishing shop replace the stolen fishing gear of an elderly couple who had just recently arrived in the shire.

This morning saw yet again the spirit that the community has in righting wrongs and going the extra yards with volunteerism and a pride of place with the Broulee Moruya Giants AFL members dressing and laying down new turf to their recently vandalised grounds.

The Narooma Sporting & Services Club also become a major sponsor this week with Club President Graham Reeves and General Manager Tony Casu presenting a cheque for $8,500 to Festival committee

While in Narooma it is also fun to learn of the new Hollywood star that is now in place in the footpath at the School of Arts (Kinema)

It was a pleasure this week to present to the Eurobodalla Senior Computer Users Group offering an overview of The Beagle and where it sits in the local news feed.

One area of The Beagle gaining considerable readership is the Letters and Opinions pages. While it is known that the Council Executive and most Councillors are particular followers it is encouraging to now learn that the State Government departments are also taking an interest as well.

We invite readers to the Letters and Opinions pages where as Councillor McGinlay notes you will find "informed and valuable contributions, people just venting, and some total pish". Rather than The Beagle censoring out the pish it is allowed to stand as representing the opinion, rightly or wrongly, of the community and the community are smart enough to then determine if it is pish or not.

Until next week
