Narooma Annual Australia Day Duck Race

Narooma Rotary will be holding their Annual Australia Day Duck Race in aid of Shelterbox Australia,which supplies shelter and supplies to people in disaster areas on an ongoing basis. 1,000 plastic ducks, which are all numbered, will be dropped from Narooma Bridge at 12 noon to coincide with an outgoing tide.
 

 

 
The first duck to cross the finish line near the Apex Park Boat Ramp will win $1,000 for the holder of the ticket with the same number as that of the winning duck.
 

 

 
The last duck wins $100.
 

 

 
It is very exciting to walk along Mill Bay Boardwalk and follow the ducks as they float down Wagonga Inlet to their destination.

Bob Antill will be selling them between 2pm and 3pm outside IGA Narooma today!.
 

 

 
They are sold several weeks in advance at $5 per duck - it is a major fund raise and a great visual family spectacle. get in early for you tickets next year that are sold at the Sunday Narooma Rotary markets
