Insurance against potential future liability

The Editor

Coastal development planning has been going on for several decades now in NSW and other states. Sea storms with wave run up have caused problems in the Eurobodalla Shire for some time with roads washed away a good example being at Broulee near the Airport in the 1970’s or 80’s. Caseys Beach is another local example.

Floor heights for some of the Shire’s CBD areas have been established whether some of us disagree with them or not.

They’ve been established for the protection of us all even though the proposition about the height of wave run up is hypothetical at this time.

Protection policy’s have been developed in an attempt to deal with the unexpected at this point in time. It’s a sort of insurance against potential future liability at the moment, some risk takers may not see things that way though.
