Calling artists to join the 2017 River of Art Festival

River of Art seeks expressions of interest from artists, performers and community groups to become part of the 2017 festival.

This vibrant festival promises to serve up another inspiring and entertaining 10-day feast of events along the far South Coast of NSW between Durras and Bermagui. Save the dates now – 19th to the 28th of May 2017.

River of Art is driven by the region’s creative community and showcases a dynamic lineup of local and visiting artisans and performers across all art forms.

The energetic team behind River of Art encourages new artists and performers to become part of its much anticipated 2017 program.

For details, visit the River of Art website: www.riverofart.com.au. Applications close on 30 January 2017, and the full program will be released in March.

River of Art Program Director and Deputy Chair, Ruth Hassall says ‘We are calling out to local and visiting artists across all art forms.

‘The 2016 festival featured live music, theatre, film, textiles, visual arts and crafts, literature, performance, poetry, storytelling, as well as community and cultural celebrations.

‘This year we hope to showcase indigenous artists and culture. We also want to foster more art forms geared to younger audiences.’

River of Art is well established as a flagship event on the South Coast calendar and is rapidly boosting its visitor numbers – locally, nationally and internationally. Three back-to- back South Coast Regional Tourism awards celebrate the festival’s success.

The festival attracted 20,000 people in 2016 and contributed more than $3.4 million to the local economy.

River of Art will once again partner with local businesses and shopfronts, who appreciate the value of hosting events and welcoming visitors and tourists to our stunning region.

To deliver an exciting must-see festival in 2017, River of Art is looking for support and sponsorships from businesses, chambers of commerce and the Eurobodalla Shire Council.
