CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS ON PRINCES HIGHWAY AT TURLINJAH
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Princes Highway at Turlinjah early next month for essential maintenance work to improve road user safety.Work will be carried out from Monday 7 November to remove trees, vegetation and rocks near the Old Princes Highway before investigations take place to determine the most effective way to carryout slope stabilisation work, which will prevent rock falls onto the highway.
A number of trees along the Princes Highway will also be trimmed to improve sight distance for motorists and help prevent branches falling on the road.The slope stabilisation work is due to be carried out early next year after investigations are completed.This work is essential to ensure the stability of the Old Princes Highway above the slope.
Work is expected to take three weeks and be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 6pm and Saturdays between 8am and 1pm.For the safety of workers and motorists, one lane will be closed during work hours with traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h in place.
Minor delays are expected.
